A Marietta Podiatrist’s View on Thanksgiving Foot Care!

foot doctor thanksgiving

The most difficult part of preparing for the large Thanksgiving feast is shopping and cooking (all activities up on your feet!). The best way to avoid foot pain after the holidays is to wear good supportive shoes and custom orthotics. Your custom orthotics will help keep your foot in proper alignment and prevent excess motion of your foot joints and muscles.

Proper diet is also paramount to avoid foot pain issues!

For individuals with Diabetes, it is important to avoid or limit consumption of sugar and carbohydrates (breads, pasta, pies, stuffing, etc). For individuals with Gout, avoiding red meat, seafood, alcohol, and sugar. For all of us, avoiding excess weight gain will help reduce the pressure we apply to our feet every day!

Any type of foot pain is not normal! Reach out to our office to schedule an appointment with one of our excellent foot doctors!

Our Podiatrists (Drs Ryan and Shaynah Goldfine) would like to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays!
